NEXTGEN EDMONTON

We're a group of volunteers working together to create a city that attracts and gives voice to the next generation by connecting people, places, communities, and ideas.

Our committee consists of 17 members—eight community leaders, eight civic leaders, Councillors Andrew Knack and Sarah Hamilton, and the NextGen coordinator—that lead a number of working groups that organize and coordinate our initiatives. Helping us are over 50 volunteers who spend their time working on projects, organizing events, learning new skills, and connecting with fellow community leaders on one of our working groups.

We:

Create and sustain a network of engaged citizens, ages 18 to 40,
Provide a platform for the sharing and advancement of new and emerging ideas,
Give voice to the interests and perspectives of a diverse demographic, and
Serve as a conduit between the next generation and the City of Edmonton, including administration and city council.
Our vision is for Edmonton to be a vibrant city shaped by the lives and leadership of citizens ages 18 to 40.
