From the Promoter

Vincent Bishop (Vincent Benoît Lévesque) was born in Vancouver in 1995 and moved to Ottawa in 2000. He is a Canadian musician who wants to pursue a solo career as a singer-songwriter. He developed an affinity and talent for composing complex yet well balanced harmonies very early on. Being solo on stage, he can showcase these harmonies by layering vocals on the spot with his beloved loop pedal.

Vincent’s upcoming debut album “Out of the Dark” is a journey through and out of difficult times and emotions, largely inspired by the author’s passage through teenage years. The album is primarily for a late teen and young adult audience but is likely to attract some older listeners because of the maturity of some of the emotional content. It could also potentially attract a younger teen audience as an introduction to the early phases of “growing up”. The album is composed through various influences of genres, such as reggae, rock, hip-hop, jazz and folk all fusing with a taste of pop.

Vincent is currently in the singer-songwriter program at Carleton University. He completed the studio recording of his full-length album in December 2014 at the Gallery Recording Studio, a seven-month project that involved 19 musicians. Several songs in this album are complex and required intensive hours of mixing in order to exhibit his arrangements.
