La Nuit Tribe

Free

From the Promoter

As part of Montreal’s 14th Nuit blanche, the Phi Centre reimagined La Nuit Tribe, a multidisciplinary happening that combines musical performances (including Tupi Collective, ABAKOS and Mark Clennon), visual arts (Pony), and virtual reality.
As Montreal’s 375th anniversary festivities get into full swing, La Nuit Tribe will showcase modern-day Montreal’s diversity and energy, 50 years after Expo 67. In collaboration with LNDMRK, Moonshine and Cult MTL, the Phi Centre will celebrate its openness and innovation until the wee hours of the morning.

Musical Performances

The musical program, masterminded in collaboration with the Moonshine collective, is candy for the ears! Tupi Collective will kick things off with a DJ set guaranteed to get Montreal grooving to some hot Brazilian electronic beats. ABAKOS and Mark Clennon, two artists from the Moonshine collective, will keep the vibe going with roof-raising performances, followed by DJ sets featuring Moonshine resident artists Pierre Kwenders and Bonbon Kojak and their special guests, Odile Myrtil and Debby Friday. BOYCOTT, also from Moonshine, will handle visuals throughout the evening. Finally, on the second floor, be prepared for an immersive experience with AJ (aroma jockey) Jarome.

Visual Arts

Montreal artist Pony, a.k.a. Gabrielle Laïla Tittley, will create an installation on the theme No Role Models that will immerse visitors in an out-of-the-ordinary atmosphere. Works by the artist will also be available for purchase, including original pieces created specifically for this event.

Virtual Reality

Again this year, visitors will have the opportunity to explore various virtual reality experiences in the Virtual Reality Garden, a unique space in Montreal dedicated to presenting the latest, most innovative works in the field.

And many more surprises!
