Free 1890's English Working Class Dinner
FEAST IN THE EAST is a monthly east end music, food & installation series. From May 20th until June 10th we are teaming up with Art Of The Danforth & presenting 3 dinners/shows as well as ongoing installation pieces.
This Feast features a FREE 1890's English Working Class dinner by Ashley Zarowny.

Black metal meet out folk, beautiful, repetitive, enveloping songs that creep into your subconscious. Haunting vocals float across a barren landscape of heavy notes and light string scrapes. One of the most compelling acts in Toronto.
KEIR NEURINGER (keirneuringer.com)
Ithaca, NY sax & synth guru, returns to Toronto with a mixing of new compositions & drone based noise squalls. Looped percussion and synth back up Keir's spoken word poetry. His compositions push forward of their own accord, with brutal energy. Synth compositions distort into dissonant drones and pulsating textures. Unsuspectingly screeching synth drones merge into free sax squeals.
ISLA CRAIG (myspace.com/islacraig)
Textural gentle soul music magician Isla Craig (The Deeep) gets it going. Her voice floats above like a cloud, filling all the empty space with it's volume. Layering over it's self it takes over without you realizing until it's everywhere. Guitar notes float in the background and a languorous rhythm section moves forward in an effortless flow, as if propelled by waves of Isla voice. The band tightens it's grip falling into a funk rhythms, with jazz ideas buried underneath. The band returns the favour & becomes a catalyst for Isla voice. It soars above growing in strength, as the band locks into grooves and mingles. Psych-soul music at it's best.
