From the Promoter

“Ideas collide, especially when you’re making music. But when you take things that are seemingly different, you can smash them together and create something new.”

So said Sam Roberts, referring to his band’s most recent album, Collider. But the idea applies equally to the Sam Roberts Band live show, a sonic stew of sound and songcraft that brings together the best of rock & roll - old and new, soulful and visceral, melodic and driving - and delivers it to fans with a passion and ferocity that has earned them a reputation as one of the greatest live bands on the road today.

After two sold out shows at Massey Hall last fall, Sam Roberts Band was looking for a new environment to present their artful rock to Toronto. Echo Beach, the exciting new downtown outdoor venue, was chosen as the location for the next throwdown by Montreal’s finest, to take place on July 26.

Sam Roberts Band – featuring guitarist Dave Nugent, guitarist/keyboardist Eric Fares, bassist James Hall and drummer Josh Trager — have also invited an international all-star cast of artists to perform with them… English phenoms Bombay Bicycle Club, fresh from their sold-out appearance at the Phoenix in March, and Australian buzz band The Jezabels will contribute to an unforgettable night of music under the stars at Echo Beach.

With a new custom stage for performances and new and improved amenities for fans (including gourmet and vegan food & beverage options), Echo Beach will be THE downtown hotspot for live music this summer. Located adjacent to the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre at the east end of the former Ontario Place, Echo Beach is a fully-licensed, family-friendly environment dedicated to providing the music fans of Toronto with the best possible outdoor concert experience.
