HIKASHU
Legendary Japanese avant-garde vocalist Makigami Koichi brings his warped synth wave, freak jazz experimental rock group Hikashu to Toronto for the first time. Having been active in Japan’s avant-garde scene since the late 70’s and collaborated with such luminaries as John Zorn, Derek Bailey, Fred Frith, Otomo Yoshihide & Ikue Mori to name a few, this is a rare live performance not to be missed. Mixing influences from 80’s new wave with prog, avant jazz & free improvisation, Hikashu creates deep grooves layered with spastic guitar riffs, heavy synths, twisted theremin & vocal interplay. Makigami’s captivating performance guides this freak rock ensemble into the deepest of inner space.

ARRINGTON DE DIONYSO’S MALAIKAT DAN SINGA
Saxophonist, throat singer artist Arrington De Dionyso (Old Time Relijun), returns to Toronto with his post punk band Malaikat dan Singa. They are touring behind a new record entitled “Open The Crown” on K Records. Angular guitar & drum patterns create a jangled web for Arrington’s voice to weave through. Bouncing rhythms unleashed, carry along effected guitar notes. Desperate vocals moan over crawling, rattling guitar riffs. Saxophone squeals slither through the decaying scene. Unleashed from a dark cave somewhere Arrington’s vocal & sax take demonic command of this chaotic dark ritual. Don’t sleep on this!

WOLFCOW
Greydyn (Tranz Defonce) and his band of deep cosmic travellers pump out some of fuzzed out space psych-pop jams. Visceral waves of guitar & synth noise pulsate though your body. Hidden song structures emerge from underground. Warm flowering tones, fuzz vocals, krautrock memories re-emerge in this harsh reality.
