From the Promoter

Bastille – the top-selling debut act of 2013 in the U.K. – will launch its first-ever North American headline tour on September 16 at the House of Blues in San Diego. The run, which will include shows at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre (September 18) and the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY (September 27), will wrap up at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom on September 30. Tickets will go on sale beginning Thursday, June 27. See below for itinerary and on sale dates.

The band will make its North American television debut on “Conan” on July 24 following its sold-out shows at Pop Scene in San Francisco (July 22) and the Troubadour in Los Angeles (July 23). After debuting at #1 on the UK album chart, Bastille’s album Bad Blood is now available in Canada via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The video for the first single, “Pompeii,” already has more than 25 million views, and can be seen here: smarturl.it/BastillePompeii. Additional videos can be seen at Cinema Pompeii (cinemapompeii.com), a site recently launched by the band, featuring a handcrafted selection of videos and performances.

Dan Smith, the creative force behind Bastille, is a storyteller at heart, whose compositions are heavily influenced by the work of such directors as Dario Argento, David Lynch and Terrence Malick and authors Ian McEwan, Hubert Selby, Jr. and Brett Easton Ellis. Chris Wood, Will Farquarson and Kyle Simmons complete Bastille’s lineup. While each has their main role in Bastille, they effortlessly trade places on vocals, keyboards and percussion, creating a musical tapestry interlaced with texture and experimentation. The band, which has opened for such artists as Two Door Cinema Club, Foster The People and Muse, will play numerous European festivals this summer, including Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Reading, Leeds, T in the Park and more.

-----

Due to an overwhelming popular demand the Bastille show originally scheduled at The Opera House has moved to Phoenix Concert Theatre. All previously purchased tickets will be honoured at the door.
