Few indie artists can claim to have impacted their nation's musical landscape the way Hayden has his. Over almost two decades of writing and releasing music, he's become one of Canada's most beloved songwriters, often mentioned in the lineage of Neil Young, Leonard Cohen and Gordon Lightfoot.
Transitioning from Canada's sardonic grunge poster boy in 90s - signing to Geffen and even contributing music for Steve Buscemi's cult-classic film, Tree's Lounge - Hayden has become the country's alt-folk statesmen, with a unique career that's yielded his own imprint, tours with The National, a release on Arts & Crafts and a position from which he can introduce exciting new artists to his many fans on carefully curated tours.
Those tours, however, are as infrequent as they are special, making upcoming dates with Reuben & the Dark, and Doug Paisley noteworthy opportunities for North American fans to experience the sometimes-reclusive Hayden live. This tour will see Hayden will be flanked by multi-instrumentalists Taylor Knox and Jay McCarrol and will culminate with a hometown performance at the Danforth Music Hall November 30.
To celebrate this special announcement, Hayden today unveils a new video for "Blurry Nights" - his third from 2013 release Us Alone - directed by Hayden and longtime collaborator Yael Staav, and which is premiering today via Exclaim!
