On Friday, July 18th Edgefest Summer Concert Series continues featuring a very special hometown performance by Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (USS). Hypeman/turntablist Human Kebab recalls his past Edgefest experiences stating "for Ash and myself growing up in the Greater Toronto Area, 102.1 The Edge has been the staple of our alternative rock existence. Attending Edgefest fresh out of your teens could be equated to Woodstock and our parents generation. The fact that we went from tuning into The Edge everyday at our manual labour jobs to having our first single in heavy rotation is our greatest achievement. Twice since our debut on The Edge in January 2008 we have been invited to play Edgefest and now we our headlining our own day. USS to this radio station is like Wendel Clark to the Toronto Maple Leafs: you can't have one without the other."

It is hard to put your thumb on USS. Ours is admittedly a world where things are constantly being examined, labeled, named, and methodically grouped neatly in one place or the other. When something comes along that will not be put under a thumb, what then? No, chaos does not consume the earth, but it does often leave people wondering where to place the duo with a sound that is equal parts science and art, a convergence of gentle melody and driving beat. Like a science experiment set to music, what they do melts down acoustic rock, EDM, Dub, Hip-Hop, Orchestral, and Pop transforming it into an entirely new element. It explodes, it implodes, and it is a pure chemical reaction.

The mysterious New York City-based musical duo MS MR (Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow) emerged to make their imprint on 2012 with "Hurricane," an introspective alt-pop masterpiece heralding the arrival of a new band, a new sound and a new approach to pop. An unofficial video for the track popped up on YouTube in May 2012 and has since garnered more than 1.5 million views. Awarded ‘Best New Track’ on Pitchfork, the duo's single quickly rose to number one on Hype Machine.

Vancouver's Said The Whale has been on a steady upward trajectory for the past six years, as relentless touring and a
prolific string of releases have led to successes including a JUNO Award in 2011 for "New Group of the Year" and
nationally charting singles. The tireless five-piece —includes dual songwriters Tyler Bancroft and Ben Worcester, drummer Spencer Schoening, keyboardist Jaycelyn Brown and bassist Nathan Shaw.

The contradictory characters of vocalist/guitarist Dylan Rau and songwriter/guitarist Ted Feldman who are Bear Hands, have combined their strengths to deliver their sophomore album Distraction – a collection in which their love of pop hooks is filtered cohesively through an eclectic collection of genre elements ranging from psychedelic to punk. “Giants” is perhaps the track that best encapsulates everything that makes Bear Hands special, as it flows from a manic verse full of hollered stream-of-consciousness lyrics into an infectious chorus, in which the universal emotion of “I’m loving you more” is set to a cascading riff.

Each concert date on the Edgefest Summer Concert Series will feature live concert performances on two stages along with a wide variety of food and beverage vendors, interactive exhibits and lifestyle displays. TD Echo Beach is located on the East Island of Ontario Place, just east of the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. TD Echo Beach features a real sand beach and offers guests a spectacular view of the downtown Toronto skyline. It is a general admission venue with no reserved seating and allows fans to get up-close-and-personal to their favourite bands. Echo Beach made a splash with critics and concert-goers alike during its inaugural season in 2011.
