Scion Sessions (#scionsessions) and Arts & Crafts manifest a fourth edition of the Field Trip Discovery Series (#FieldTripTO) on August 28th at Tattoo (567 Queen Street West, Toronto.) Teaming up with Toronto-based record label Rare Beef, they skewer Toronto's underground electronic scene in one evening.

The stacked line-up of talent includes producer Deebs, mysterious duo Imposter(s), Beta Frontiers, Waxlimbs and Michael Imperial. Entry is free with RSVP at fieldtriplife.com.

Rare Beef co-founder Michael Imperial drops a searing DJ mix to set the tone. Stealing from house, club techno and UK bass, it threads syncopated vocal samples, driving percussion and heart-hitting bass lines together in one end-to-end burner. "I wanted to capture the intensity and energy of a 1 a.m. DJ set, while showcasing music from Canadian electronic labels. Shout out to: Turbo, Main Course and of course, Rare Beef. The CRTC would be proud."
