Charles Bradley and Joss Stone
From the Promoter
There is no denying the impact that Charles Bradley and Joss Stone have had on the incredible revival of Traditional Soul Music in the past decade. This all too rare Soul Explosion features the two in their only appearance together, anywhere. For lovers of Soul Music this once in a lifetime collaboration is not to be missed.
Joss Stone burst onto the international scene at the age of 15 with her debut album, Soul Session. Since then the British R&B sensation has sold out Massey Hall (2005), collaborated with the likes of Mick Jagger and A. R. Rahman, won a Grammy Award, and has put out five more albums with a new one set to be released in 2014. At 26, she’s just getting warmed up.
Charles Bradley has seen—and lived—it all. On his own since his teens, the funk and soul singer travelled around America working odd jobs and performing tributes to James Brown before finally landing a record deal with Daptone Records – bringing him to an international audience. His 2013 album Victim of Love, is a powerful thank-you note at once beautiful and blistering—just like Bradley’s performances.
