Familiar Fiends (Brantford)
With copious amounts of fuzzed out hooks forged in the centre of the Sun, these fiends know how to serve up quite the platter of sunshine-slimey sweetness. Reminiscient of cooling off in the graveyard with your favourite ghouls after a long hot summer's day.
Creep Highway (Toronto)
Like a throbbing phantom limb that has become self aware, Creep Highway slaps you in the mouth with their jet-fueled cartoon violence and turbo charged melodies. Squealing, squelchy guitar riffs get cranky and wanky amongst pounding rhythms that refuse to slow down. Put on some Saturday morning cartoons and turn the volume way, way up.
The Flu (Toronto)
Ravenously delirious, foaming at the mouth and several other orifices as well, The Flu is the sound of your worst hang-over induced nightmare, amplified. Dripping with blood and beer, snark and snarl blend with wide-eyed laughter as the duo try desperately to decide if they are musicians or con artists.
Battlewulf (Guelph)
Beachy, feel good vibes, swirling chorus solos, eloquent pop sensibilities, all solidified by a perfectly erect middle finger.
Radio Mama (Peterborough)
Is this stain lipstick or vomit? Whose bed did I sleep in last night? Did we set fire to that barn? There are no answers, but it doesn't matter when you goto the Church of Rock N Roll. Make sure you put on your good leather.
