The recording is in the can! We’re looking forward to the May release of our newest album, Spin Cycle. The double album will feature four new works by young Canadian composers (Dinuk Wijeratne, Kevin Lau, Laura Silberberg, and Rob Teehan), the reimagining of these works by renowned DJ Skratch Bastid, and the composers' responses to those remixes in DJ-Afiara quintet form (check out our website for more information). The album will be released on the Centrediscs label and we couldn't be more excited to share it with the world.
To celebrate, we decided to throw a party! The pre-release extravaganza will be on May 1st at 918 Bathurst. There will be food, drink, and plenty of music to keep the night rocking. Performances will include selections by Afiara, a set by Skratch Bastid, and maybe even a snippet of what’s on the CD. Advance release copies of the album will also be available. Get your tickets ahead of time to ensure that we don't run out!
