Intersection Day 1: Flowers Of Hellflowersofhell.com

From the Promoter

A day of performance and interactive installations taking place in the heart of Toronto at Yonge-Dundas Square from 2-10pm. Robert Everett Green of the Globe and Mail describes the event as “[a] marathon of sound in the middle of traffic.” This year Music in the Barns presents composer John Oswald’s epic composition, “Spectre,” recreated for 1000 string instruments. For this special participatory performance John & Music in the Barns have taken on the challenge of getting 1000 string players to come to Yonge & Dundas Square to join them in the performance of this ground-shattering work. Click here for more information or to sign up and participate.

Along the theme of large groups, The Element Choir, a 40 person plus group of improvising singers under the direction of Toronto avant-garde vocalist Christine Duncan, will be preforming this year’s festival. This year will also feature performances by avant-garde percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani, shoegaze orchestra Flowers Of Hell, free improv duo Not The Wind, Not The Flag and many more.
