Following his Beautiful Freakshow cross-country arena tour which saw him perform in 26 locations across the country and selling out at the first stop in Hamilton, Dean Brody is set to headline the most prestigious venue in Toronto – the newly named Budweiser Stage. This will be one of the first times that a homegrown country act has ever headlined the stage, placing him in the company of icons such as Shania Twain. The past year saw Brody take home a JUNO Award for Country Album of the Year, along with 4 CCMA Awards for the top selling digital Canadian country single of all-time, “Bring Down the House”.

Just one week after its official release, Beautiful Freakshow, Brody’s sixth album, was the #1 Country Album, with the second single, “Time”, remaining the top selling single for 13 weeks straight. Known for pushing boundaries in the country genre, his latest album is one that takes risks and delves outside of the comfort zone of traditional country, with songs such as the mellow reggae vibe invoked from “Beautiful Girl”, to a rap vocal contribution from Halifax native Shevy Price in the title track, “Beautiful Freakshow” while simultaneously staying true to what many fans have come to love and expect from Brody, with traditional tracks destined to be classics, such as, “Time”, “8th Day” and “Blueberry Sky”, which features iconic country legend, Vince Gill on the guitar.

Brody will be joined by two-time JUNO Award nominee and CCMA Award winner Tim Hicks, who is known for his compelling live show, which has cemented his reputation as an elite chart topping act. Hicks’ catalogue of highly praised releases have earned the Niagara native and 2014 CCMA Rising Star Award winner, nine Top 10 singles, a Platinum certified single and five GOLD certified singles in addition to multiple sold-out headlining dates and tours across the country. Hicks’ cumulative streams on Spotify add up to 7 million+ and to date he has sold close to 400,000 digital singles. Hicks the “elite Country music star” (GoBe Weekly), has made an impression on fans and critics alike, becoming a “household name” (Niagara Falls Review) and “one to watch” (Toronto Star), flipping a switch when he steps on stage, creating unforgettable moments for capacity crowds and getting audiences fired up with many declaring “his country-rock infused live show is one fans will be talking about long after the encore.” On May 19, 2017, Hicks will release “Tim Hicks Live” featuring 6 of his biggest hit songs live.

Taking to the stage as the opener is Carly Pearce, an artist who was born into the bluegrass brawn of Kentucky, and has never known a moment that Country music wasn’t her destined path. At the young age of 11 she began touring with a small band and by 16 was performing at Dollywood six times a day, five times a week. Over the past eight years in Nashville, the CMT Next Women of Country alum has been blazing her own trail with the depth of her songwriting, more than 35 invitations to play the Grand Ole Opry and joining the bill with notable artists such as Kip Moore, Cole Swindell, Eli Young Band, Hunter Hayes and Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars. Fans and critics have taken notice of her “earthy, textured voice” (Wide Open Country) with her first single “Every Little Thing.” The song is currently ascending up the Country radio charts after becoming a “Highway Find” on SiriusXM’s “The Highway” who also honoured her one of their “Future Five for 2017.” Rolling Stone Country, The Huffington Post, Country Living, Sounds Like Nashville, The Boot, Whiskey Riff and One Country have all named Carly an “Artist to Watch” in addition to being selected as a CMT Listen Up “17 for 2017” artist. Currently working on new music for her debut album on Big Machine Label Group with hit producer busbee (Maren Morris, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum), 2017 is destined to be Carly’s breakout year.
