From the Promoter
Limestone Chorus is a new indie folk/soul group sharing soil between St. Catharines & Toronto. Limestone Chorus writes songs with roots in folk, soul and an emphasis on socially relevant words and catchy pop hooks. On top, weaving all of their songs with intricate three part harmonies the group started performing throughout Niagara as an acoustic trio in 2013.
Growing into a full band; Jordan Nicolaides on Guitar, Wilson Hadfield on Guitar, Ben Goerzen on Cello and adding Eric Rudling on the Drumkit, Limestone Chorus took their act on the road across Ontario opening up for many well known acts including; Wilderness of Manitoba, Grey Lands and The Dinner Belles.
Through the band members’ unique musical influences, they have created a distinctive, dynamic sound with big hooks. On September 30 2014, Limestone Chorus released their first EP 'Outside Voices' under their old name Shore Thing. Recorded at Wow Recording Studio in St. Catharines, the group worked hard to capture the excitement of a live performance as well as using the studio space to push the songs to new places, further cementing their unique sound. The EP has had a strong reception from fans and has helped the group expand into new areas.
Limestone Chorus has toured across Canada, with the goal of playing as many shows as possible over 2015 to build a solid fanbase they have begun to have their name repeated by venue's, promoter's and more. In conjunction with this Limestone Chorus has finished recording their debut album with producer Ian Romano (Attack in Black, Daniel Romano, City & Colour) at Catharine North Studios in Hamilton (Feist, Dallas Green, Arkells). They are working towards an early 2016 release.
Toronto is a flourishing city with a rich and diverse cultural landscape that is constantly shifting. This ever-changing environment creates both an exciting and contemplative vibe, much like the musical stylings of Brooklyn Doran. In her debut EP, "There's A Light On", Brooklyn Doran (originally from Kenora, Ontario) has presented to us a collection soulful and original songs capturing a love letter to the city she now calls home. Her lyrics are honest, vulnerable, and clever. She delivers each song with crisp, clear vocals infused with passion and ease. Brooklyn Doran's music is an unique and harmonious blend of Jazz and Indie-Folk. This impressive EP offers a great variety of tunes, including her popular single, "Lansdowne" a blues-inspired ballad and a catchy jazz/folk track, "There's A Light On". Brooklyn Doran represents an exciting generation of emerging and original talent in Toronto, and this EP is a wonderful launch to a brilliant career in music.
