Chicago Freak pop band Wei Zhongle lands in Toronto in support of their new album "The Operators". Pulling elements from prog, jazz, modern composition & dropping it all into the blender. Minimalist rhythms lead the way for trance induced electronic explorations. Electric clarinet squeals meander amongst vibrating bass lines. Groove born out of texture heavy worlds float somewhere between future funk and prog fusion, but in the best way. Wei Zhongle is a silky lizard that squirms from mutation to mutation.

Toronto no wave freaks bust angular guitar & bass jabs over funk infused rhythms that squirm and shake. Bouncing bass lines & speedy drum patterns pull you in, as Luge seamlessly morphs from a languid stroll into chaotic spazz punk fury. Absurdist vocals wander amongst mangled guitar notes. Their locked in rhythms section spits out bastard funk grooves sound like they are straight out of late 1970's NYC.
LICE II
Tim Fagan (of New Fries fame) keeps it real with his newest band Lice II, not to be confused with the original Lice (also featuring TF). This fresh birth of rhythmic punk influenced controlled chaos merges film and TV sound bites with dismembered no wave grooves. A raw explosion of energy zig zags through angular compositions. Come on time to check the second coming!
