PWYC show! December's episode is a special one, as we are ecstatic to host Northumbria as they celebrate the release of their new LP, Vinland! They are also joined by special guest Subterranea!
NORTHUMBRIA - 10pm
Formed in late 2011 from the ashes of Holoscene, Toronto/Northumberland based musicians Jim Field and Dorian Williamson came together to create Northumbria and in turn craft sweeping, largely improvised soundscapes. Vinland is the third and last album in Northumbria’s trilogy inspired by the Norse discovery of Canada. Using guitar and bass, and recording their improvised compositions live, Jim Field and Dorian Williamson create a deep textured sound world. Evoking the ancient wonder that the Norse explorers must have felt discovering Vinland, the Windswept Land.

SUBTERRANEA - 9pm
Subterranea is a music from under the ground: haunting, possessing, earthly, with the sound that has a body and a voice of its own. Drawing inspirations from progressive metal, doom metal and epic metal, the upcoming album Myrkri will take you into the land of the living nighmare, where bloodthirsty crones dance in the forests boasting of their warfare talents, and seductive mermaids drag their uncareful victims under the water, where the unfortunate find their ultimate demise.
