SARAH CRIPPS

Over the past decade Toronto artist Sarah Cripps has become known for her strong base in Roots music, developing an intensity and grit that has been honed through extensive performing. Through her debut album Change (2012) and five years of touring Canada, Sarah has refined her art and matured her sound, leading to her current collaboration with producer Dean Drouillard. Her sophomore album, Sarah Cripps (2018), presents a rich, dark tapestry, exploring new genres and influences. Though Sarah identifies this new work as Alternative, she continues to draw heavily on her Roots background.
While navigating the new direction of her music, Sarah found herself inspired by her love of cult cinema and classic film. Not only did this impact her sound, but also inspired a new passion to produce otherworldly creations with special effects makeup. Sarah brings to life elegant and grotesque characters that are featured throughout her photography, album art and videos.
With the upcoming self-titled release, Sarah combines her beautifully haunting vocals and alluring lyrics with dark imagery to create a package that draws curiosity from the depths of all listeners. Fans had a taste of her new sound with the lead single ‘Leave Behind’ release summer 2017.

DANI NASH

So a tiny lady walks into a bar, 5 foot 1 with 2 inch heels on, sporting a leather catsuit and David Bowie’s leftover makeup from 1974 on her lips and eyelids. She jumps onstage and picks up an electric guitar, and then the bass, and like a creature of the universe proceeds to sit on her throne behind the drums to emancipate orbital electric energy. This is the force that is Dani Nash.

Like a finely formed musician, Dani Nash’s voice and stage presence reveals the fearlessness of a truly authentic talent. The hip swaying rock n’ roll femme fatale delivers a performance like no other and as a true catalyst of all things rock, Nash formulates a soul defying fusion of sound with harmonious artistry.
Since taking the stage as a young tween in Donny Osmond’s production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat, Nash has been harvesting a dream coat of her own. Graduating to Rock N’ Roll came naturally to Nash as she learned to play the drums in high school all-girl band “Jail Bait”. In the early 2000’s after graduating from Ontario College of Art and Design, Nash joined forces with local Toronto musician Dan Gordon. Hitting every stage from Vancouver to Newfoundland, they eventually formed Toronto’s indie Alt-Country band The Sure Things. After their 7 year career and 3 full length records later, Nash formed female alt-country band The Pining alongside Toronto vocalist and Blocks Recording Club founder Julie Faught. Their 2011 release received wide appraise across Canada and North America. With several successful full length releases under her star studded belt Nash hit the studio again, this time as a solo artist, guns-a-blazing. With the help of local Toronto producer and indie entrepreneur Dave Clark (Rheostatics, Gord Downie, Woodshed Orchestra), Nash released her 2013 full length record to wide critical recognition from blogTO and NOW magazine, landing herself in !Earshot’s National top 10, followed by a successful number of tours and countless live performances across North America.

A jack-of-all-trades you can often find Nash behind a drum kit holding down the beat and providing seamless harmonies for many Canadian artists such as Brendan Canning, Brandy ZDan, and most recently including Toronto’s own Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar. Set to hit the studio again this year with producer Paul Pfisterer (The Beauties, Laser), Nash is brimming with talent, and a force to be reckoned with.
