ACE OF WANDS
Ace of Wands is the music and songwriting of Lee Rose. Joined by Anna Mernieks and Jody Brumell, the band creates mixture of tones and emotions, blending soaring vocals, violin, synth-bass and guitar into songs inspired by the supernatural, elemental forces and physical sensation. Drawing on a background of rock and roll, classical violin training and folk music, Ace of Wands expands their songwriting to incorporate facets of cinematic soundscapes, pop melodies and interlocking guitars and vocals. Motivated by the tarot card of the same name, the music is about will and determination; to create and destroy, and to bring about physical, mental and spiritual transformation.
2018 has been a busy year for Ace of Wands, seeing the release of their debut EP “Grown from Good.” to critical acclaim. Their Horseshoe Tavern debut on August 18th will mark the release of their follow up EP, “10,000 Feet” along with a special music video screening.
WHEN PARTICLES COLLIDE
"Rock ‘n Roll is about singing and playing the truth so that we can all be a little more human, so that we can better understand ourselves through the power of rhythm, melody and verse.” — When Particles Collide believes this art form makes us all feel empowered, inspired, connected and unstoppable. In March of 2010 Sasha and Chris met when they were both cast in a Bangor Maine production of Hedwig and The Angry Inch. Sasha played guitar and Chris played drums. They fell in love with playing together and later just plain old fell in love.
In January of 2011 They played their first official show as When Particles Collide and since then have been on a non-stop rock ‘n roll adventure with a sound that is hard to pigeon-hole:
You're onto something great when you can deliver a straightforward pop nugget that pulls from Motown, heavy metal and equal parts Joan Jett and Nancy Sinatra.....punk rock fury, metal crescendos and delicate melodic turns...groovy, heavy pop, slick, hypnotic new wave (power pop? power wave?). — The Boston Herald 2016
Their new album “Fade to Gold” is set for release on September 21, 2018
