HIGH TONE SON OF A BITCH
Formed in 2003 from the ashes of Cruevo, and preceding guitar player Paul Kott’s work in Sleep's Matt Pike-fronted Bay Area metal "supergroup" Kalas, High Tone Son of a Bitch is an innovative, psychedellic stoner/doom band that pulls together a number of Bay Area musicians from bands like Noothgrush, Hammers of Misfortune, Men of Porn, Neurosis, and others. After lead guitarist and Paul Kott's brother Andrew Kott died in 2008 at 26 years old, HTSOB's announced 2005 hiatus was assumed to be permanent. The band reformed in 2019 with most surviving core members intact and a large cast of contributing Bay Area musicians collaborating on studio efforts.
SIERRA
Sierra is a rock band from Kitchener Ontario. They formed in 2011 and have been jamming hard since. They have an EP under their belt and their debut album, PSLIP, is out now on CD and will be Retro Futurtist's very first vinyl release (out January 2014). Recorded and produced by Phillip Cope at the Jam Room in Columbia SC, PSLIP is a testament to their goal as a band: to melodically worship the riff. Fresh off the US roads with KYLESA, Sierra are about to embark on their first European tour supporting Kylesa, while sharing the stage with label mates Jagged Vision. Sierra invites you to reach out through space and time, drift off and loose your mind, and LET THE MUSIC PSLIP!
