THE EX (theex.bandcamp.com)
Now legendary Dutch noise rock / experimental punk band The Ex celebrate 40 years of iconoclastic moves. From collaborations with improvised & avant jazz mainstays like Han Bennink, Mats Gustafsson, Ken Vandermark & Tom Cora to Ethio-jazz greats like Getatchew Mekuria, The Ex have been tirelessly expanding the scope of their music to embrace new ideas. Inherently tied to a groove, angular rhythms drive band tirelessly forward. Drummer Katherina Bornefeld slowly builds minimalist percussive patterns as the trifecta of guitarists add their uniques textures on top. Crunching distorted tones rain over slick hard notes and vibrating bass. Aggressive gnarled guitars battle under Arnold de Boer's vocal proclamations. Treble filled notes dance over dissonant licks. Seriously probably one of the best rock bands out there, after 40 years The Stones sucked & The Beatles didn't exist, The Ex is still killing it.

NEW FRIES (newfries.bandcamp.com)
Toronto’s greatest freak quartet get riled up with some herky jerky jams, angular grooves & gnarly yelps over ripped guitar riffs. Real punks playing minimalist prog. Deconstructed night terror jams for the modern hypochondriac. New jams in the works!

EUCALYPTUS (eucalyptus1.bandcamp.com)
Brodie West's adventure in calypso inspired avant jazz is accompanied by a who's who of Toronto's avant whatever odd ball scene, including guitarist Alex Lukashevsky, trumpeter Nicole Rampersaud, pianist Ryan Driver, drummers Nick Fraser & Evan Cartright, bassist Josh Cole and percussionist Blake Howard. Pulling from a variety of worlds, music traditions & a generally buoyant feeling of love & harmony, Eucalyptus are the perfect band to have playing on the pool side patio at your palatial Caribbean estate. Alternatively they are also pretty nice band to see play at The Jam Factory on a fresh spring day!

We regret that this venue is up one flight of stairs and therefore not fully accessible.
