UK cellist & producer Oliver Coates creates beat driven sonic landscapes that sit somewhere between ambient, contemporary classical, and forward thinking electronic dance music. His sound & approach are grounded in live cello manipulation, with other samples & synth tones morphing into new realities as he weaves it all together. Dubbed out delays and distorted synth rumbles worm around his hauntingly beautiful effected cello work. Beyond his solo career he has played with Radiohead, Terry Riley, Steve Reich & Actress. He lands in Toronto for the first time supporting his solo LP "Shelley's on Zenn​-​La" on RVNG Intl. as well as a recording of John Luther Adams’ Canticles of the Sky.

ACT! is a new project from Toronto-based composer, producer and sound artist David Psutka. Building on a complex body of work as Egyptrixx, Ceramic TL, Anamai and various other collaborations, ACT! represents a new chapter of creative output from Psutka. The material is of a universal mind; new psychedelia braided with ecstatic groove - a pastiche of physical sound and kaleidoscope mind. The aesthetic toggles between density and empty air; inwardness and unity. Indebted in spirit to the masters of psychic jazz, like Yusef Lateef and Cecil Taylor, as much as to the euphoria of the club, this music declares concrete expression and total significance. The debut album Universalist was released in July, 2018 on Halocline Trance (CAN).
