From the Promoter

A human rights concert series created in Canada to address the social outcry that has taken place in Latin America, specifically in Chile. Many organizations across Canada have united under the slogan “Chile desperto!” (“Chile woke up!”) to produce these concerts. The series starts with the Canadian tour of Antu Kai Mawen (Sun and Rain), headed by famous folk singer Charles Labra and accompanied by “Proyecto Altiplano” from Toronto. The event also features Paz Juardo’s theatre piece “EYES OF CHILE.”

Proceeds from the event distributed by Apoyemos Chile, and go to recent victims who have suffered injuries and trauma from the repression in Chile. Specifically, money raised will be in support of Gustavo Gatica, Fabiola Capillay, Geraldine Alvarez and Oscar Ignacio Perez.

Promoters: Canadians United for Human Rights Society (Calgary), Creativo Arts (Toronto), Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network (Toronto), and Apoyemos Chile (Toronto).
