Double bassist Nat Baldwin (Dirty Projectors) arrives in Toronto behind his newest solo album "AUTONOMIA I: Body Without Organs". This outing sees Nat embrace his history as an improvisor, using extended techniques and often playing with 2 bows, preparing the strings, and eliciting haunting timbres. Strings writhe and curl as Baldwin coaxes out intimate hums & whispers. Dynamic moves see notes jump in a controlled vibrant chaos orchestrated as if herding a rockslide. Unexpected intimacy is born out of a feverish dream. Nat does it all live at The Burdock!

Charles Spearin (Do Make Say Think, Broken Social Scene) presents a set of solo music following the release of his newest recording "Thank God The Plague Is Over". A piercing & beautiful collaboration with Swedish musican Josefin Runsteen, that sees Spearin on the Swedish folk instrument the nyckelharpa and Runsteen on Violin. The stunning improvised pieces to come out of this duo's meeting move from haunting whispers to urgent racing cries.
