Following a run of festival performances and a U.S. tour earlier this year with The Gaslight Anthem, Matt Mays is announcing his Canadian tour for the fall. Billed as a solo tour, Matt will be performing songs from his whole catalogue to intimate audiences in smaller venues. The largely acoustic shows will feature Matt hanging up his trademark White Falcon in favour of an old acoustic guitar or piano. He will be joined on stage by long-time friend and band mate Adam Baldwin (aka The Supervisor). Adam, an accomplished musician in his own right, will also open the shows with a set of his own material.

Says Matt: “I love playing on my own with just an old acoustic guitar or a piano. It's how all of the songs on Coyote were conceived. Late at night in a haze, or with a coffee in the morning. It's how I met the muse on these songs. I've wanted to take that vibe on the road, and now I am.”

The run of shows starts on October 16 in Montreal and runs through to November 12 in Vancouver. Dates listed below.

Voted the 2013 SiriusXM Indie Award winner for Male Artist of the Year, Matt’s latest album Coyote was released last fall and debuted at #7 on the Soundscan Album Chart. The video for the first single ‘Take It On Faith’ was nominated for a 2013 MMVA. Matt is a four-time JUNO nominee, and multiple ECMA winner. He is respected internationally for his “his genuine, gorgeous song-craft and killer live performances.”
