Arcade Fire has partnered with PLUS1 (plus1.org) so that $1 CAD per ticket goes to KANPE (kanpe.org), and their work bringing support to the most vulnerable communities in Haiti. Beck is unfortunately no longer able to join Arcade Fire on their upcoming North American tour. Taking his place will be Boukman Eksperyans. Formed in 1978, GRAMMY nominated Boukman Eksperyans are the preeminent Haitian roots band of all time. Their song “Kèm Pa Sote” was an inspiration to the early 90s revolution that toppled the post-Duvalier military regime, and has since become a revolutionary anthem all over the world. The only Haitian band to be signed by Chris Blackwell to Island Records, Boukman Eksperyans blends elements of rara with a foundation of mizik rasin— infused with a rebel spirit.
